Yield monitoring with our InCommand™ displays is now faster and easier to use! While our yield monitor has always set the standard for accuracy, we realized growers were cutting corners on their yield monitor calibration. Ag Leader is pleased to announce an improved calibration algorithm for InCommand displays that allows growers to cut the required calibration loads in half and achieve the same accuracy as before!
What does this mean for your yield monitoring experience? Here are some common questions answered.
1. What is this new calibration option?
While there have been no changes to the user interface, this is a behind the scenes change to the calibration algorithm. We have taken years of yield monitoring expertise and combined it with an intense study of grain flow characteristics to create an algorithm that delivers world-class data in fewer calibration loads. If growers want to perform one calibration to get good results (on par with other one-calibration solutions), there’s an option for that. If growers want world-class Ag Leader accuracy then they can now achieve that in two calibration loads.
2. What are some best practices to use with the new calibration? Has anything changed?
Again, there have been no changes to the user interface that the grower sees. This is a behind-the-scenes to change to the calibration algorithm that creates an optimal calibration for accuracy in fewer loads.
A couple tips for getting started:
- Growers upgrading to InCommand v2.5 should retire any prior season’s calibrations before harvest begins in order to maintain calibration accuracy.
- Familiarize yourself with the calibration guidelines per weighing device, found in the revised feature user guide.
3. I recognize that capturing accurate weight loads is important. What resources are there to help with this?
- For best weight calibration results, a certified scale will be the best weighing method. Second best would be a weigh wagon, followed by a grain cart.
- A semi-truck load across a certified scale is fine to calibrate with. If the grower is to perform a second calibration we recommend the load size is the same for optimal results, and that a second load is taken at half-flow. You could also utilize half a semi-truck load size to perform both calibrations instead.

4. What other features come with these harvest enhancements?
The year-round InCommand displays now also feature two on-screen resettable bushel counters.
5. Will the recent harvest enhancements be available for the Ag Leader® Integra/Versa™?
No, the simplified calibration process and bushel counters will be a feature of the InCommand 1200 and InCommand 800 only.
6. How do I access the new calibration through my InCommand display?
Simply update the display to version 2.5 firmware. No additional hardware required. There is nothing changed in the user interface, simply enter one or two calibration loads and see the improved accuracy gained in fewer loads.
7. How do I know how many calibration loads to take now?
Single-load calibration – This routine is for growers who may not have calibrated at all in previous years or those who would prefer a faster process over data accuracy.
Two-load calibration – Using two calibration loads (taken at full-flow and at half-flow), Ag Leader’s yield monitor will generate a full calibration model and achieve the industry-best accuracy comparable to the traditional four-load method.
More than two calibration loads – If preferred, the user may add calibration loads to preserve the method they are accustomed to.
